Welcome to the South & East regional page, where you'll find all the information you need about everything going on in our region and how you can get involved!
South & East has two Development Officers, who organises all of the regional training and activities, work with your local competition venues, and is there to answer all of our member questions. Supporting our Development Officer is your regional committee, all of which are volunteers who help to run our regional activity and represent you, our members, in several different areas.
Meet your Development Officers
Katharine joined British Dressage 20 years ago. Their job has grown vastly from arranging dates between venues and sending out newsletters with application forms (no social media or electronic entries back then!), to what it is today. A few of Katharine's responsibilities are all regional social media, email and phone correspondences, added-value event creation, and venue and rule support.
Sharon joined BD almost 14 years ago, along with Katherine's role over time the role has changed drastically to communications via social media and email. They support judges, venues and coaches to give the best possible experience to our members. But it is the face-to-face connection that Sharon finds most rewarding. Sharon rode as a child, working at riding schools 12 hours a day in exchange for a ride, as well as show jumping ponies before leaving to build a career outside of horses initially in HR and latterly in Product Marketing in the motor industry.
