We understand the importance of finding the right coach and the BD Coaches' Database is an easily accessible list of coaches at various levels throughout the UK.
Being a member of British Dressage is not just about competing but also about developing your riding and your horses’ way of going. Find out more about the type of coaches below.
- BD Accredited Coaches hold a Level 3 dressage qualification and have been assessed by BD assessors, or hold a dressage-endorsed UKCC Level 4 qualification. They have shown a good knowledge of modern coaching skills and sound technical knowledge up to and including Advanced Medium level. This status may also be granted to a very experienced coach who is also a member of the International Dressage Trainers Club and has trained at least one combination to international small tour level.
- BD Recognised Coaches hold a Level 2 dressage qualification or a UKCC qualification from another relevant equestrian discipline. They have shown a good basic knowledge of modern coaching skills and have a sound technical knowledge of dressage up to Elementary level.
