Coaches are a huge part of our sport; become a member of British Dressage and access a range of coaching qualifications, as well as regional training and events.

Being a member of British Dressage is not just about competing but also about developing your riding and your horses’ way of going. We understand the importance of finding the right coach and the BD Coaches' Database is an easily accessible list of coaches at various levels throughout the UK, find the list below.
You can also be assured that all coaches listed on our find a coach below have up-to date first aid and safeguarding certificates, public liability insurance and have agreed to abide by the code of conduct.
Coaching qualifications
There are several coaching qualifications and development opportunities currently on offer, whether you're new to coaching and looking to gain your next qualification, or you're an existing coach wanting to further your development.
Coach packages
The British Dressage Coach Package will help to support you build a successful business, by providing verified listings, enhanced CPD activity, plus the option of professional insurance, offering total security for you and your clients. Choose from three tiers, each offering great value for money, and select the package that suits your professional and personal needs.
Qualified coaches with the necessary compliance can join our British Dressage Coach Community. In order to be listed coaches and appear on our database you must have the necessary qualifications and maintain the relevant first aid, safeguarding and insurance compliance.
Please note, any Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification or a Equestrian Emergency First Aid at Work Qualification will be accepted by British Dressage when registering as a coach. It is advisable to check with all course providers that they will be able provide a refresher course if your current certificate has expired, or whether you will be required to complete another initial course. It is also strongly recommended that you check with your insurance provider to ensure you are still meeting any of their compliance requirements.

Regional coach representatives
Each of our regions have a coach representative as part of the regional committees, who are there to answer any questions around coaching with British Dressage, and support the organisation of coaching events and training in their regions.
