We are aware that there have been some comments and speculation on social media in recent days, concerning British Dressage’s Under 21 international programme and European Championship selection, which do not reflect the official position of the Board.  We would therefore like to take this opportunity to correct any misapprehensions with regards to our current strategy. 

With our riders and ponies arrived and settled into the Stragona Equestrian Center in Strzegom, Poland, it’s time to look ahead to this year’s FEI Pony European Championships and wish our team the very best of luck this week.

The second KBIS semi-finals were held at Port Royal Equestrian and Exhibition Centre in Yorkshire (21 – 22 July 2022) and there was strong competition for a place at the finals, which are held at the LeMieux National Championships at Somerford in September.

British Dressage is delighted to confirm the team line-up for the 2022 FEI Pony European Championships, which takes place this coming week in Strzegom, Poland (03 – 07 August 2022).

British Junior Annabella Pidgley has today won Freestyle silver at the FEI European Championships for Juniors and Young Riders at Hartpury in Gloucestershire (25 – 31 July 2022). Jessie McConkey concluded her exceptional week with fifth place in the Young Rider Freestyle while Sophie Wallace and Anna Dalrymple both impressed to sit 12th and 13th in their respective classes amongst Europe’s best.

On the second day of the Individual competition at the FEI European Championships for Juniors & Young Riders, Annabella Pidgley has added to the Juniors’ brilliant team bronze with an outstanding Individual bronze. Young Rider Jessie McConkey posted a phenomenal PB of 74.044% to finish just outside the medals, while high achievers Caitlin Burgess, Anna Dalrymple, Sophie Wallace and Myles Graham have all qualified for tomorrow’s Freestyle final.

With Britain's bronze still buzzing amongst the Youth team contingent, the medal mentality continued into the first day of Individual competition at the FEI European Championships for Juniors and Young Riders.

There were double sash winners galore at Sparsholt Summer Regional Championships (15-17 July 2022) as temperatures and scores soared. Georgie Nicholls, Nicola Buchanan and Dannie Morgan all topped two classes gaining double regional championship wins and qualifications for the Le Mieux National Championships at Somerford Park (15-18 September).

The British Junior team have today secured a tremendous team bronze at the FEI European Championships for Juniors and Young Riders, taking place this week at Hartpury in Gloucestershire (25 – 31 July 2022), while our Young Rider quartet also did themselves proud to finish just outside the podium in a close-fought contest for team medal honours.

With horse inspection complete and the Championships ribbon cut at a spectacular opening ceremony in the Hartpury Arena, four British riders took to the arena for part one of the team medal competition.
