With the Petplan Equine Area Festivals now complete for 2018 and riders now in final preparation for the next Finals round, thoughts may be turning to qualifying for next year’s series.

British Dressage has received notification via the British Equestrian Federation of the outcome of a positive controlled medication test at the Winter Championships at Hartpury College, Gloucestershire, on 15 April 2018. 

Registration is open for the British Equestrian Federation’s UK Sport National Lottery and Sport England funded World Class Programme Podium Potential Pathway 2019-2021 squad, which now forms the first stage of the recently revised Equestrian performance pathway.

History was made on Saturday 1 September in a small corner of the West Midlands when the first Championships for riders with an Intellectual Disability were held in conjunction with the Riding for the Disabled under the BD umbrella.

The competition was fierce at the thrilling Equissage Pulse Summer Festival of Para Dressage hosted at Solihull Riding Club last weekend (1 – 2 September 2018). Though the sunshine stayed away, the talent of our future Para stars shone brightly.

The Eastern region is celebrating after taking the team title at the Senior Home International at Bishop Burton College in East Yorkshire (31 August – 2 September 2018). A total of 126 combinations and 31 teams contested this year’s episode of the annual flagship event for senior regional riders.

Now in its 17th year, the ever popular Sheepgate Under-25 Championships once again welcomed a stellar line up of youth talent who travelled from as far afield as Scotland, Wales and the West Country to Lincolnshire, all vying for a precious place on the podium.

It’s been a long held aim for many to develop the increasingly popular freestyle competitions into a bi-annual championship affair and last weekend (24 – 26 August), that became reality as the inaugural Summer Music Festival took place at Bury Farm in Buckinghamshire.
