Under rainy Gloucestershire skies, a further six worthy winners were crowned at the NAF Five Star Winter Championships. The weather may have taken a turn for the worse but this didn’t detract from another day of top class dressage action at Hartpury.

The weather gods were once again in our favour for day two of the NAF Five Star Winter Dressage Championships with sunny skies for nearly all of the ten hours of dressage action at Hartpury. Six top class competitions yielded six worthy winners.

It was a fabulous opening day at Hartpury for the NAF Five Star Winter Championships with five winners shining as brightly as the August sunshine.

Competition at the FEI Young Rider and U25 European Championships in Pilisjászfalu, Hungary, gets underway this afternoon, where Great Britain has four combinations competing as individuals.  

International Small Tour, British Youth team and triple FEI Para European gold medallist horse Abira was sadly put to sleep on Tuesday 11 August. He was 20 years old.

Bringing together the very best 5, 6 and 7 year old young horses from across the world, the re-scheduled Dressage World Breeding Championships will take place from 8 – 13 December 2020 at Verden, Germany and will be an indoor event.

It’s a green light for competitions in Scotland and indoor facilities in Wales.

British Equestrian is now accepting applications for the 2020–21 cohort of its Young Professionals Programme.

After a four-month delay due to lockdown, the NAF Five Star Winter Dressage Championships will go ahead 17 - 23 August at Hartpury College. Whilst the event may be taking place behind closed doors, due to COVID restrictions, dressage fans won’t miss a minute of the action as Horse & Country (H&C) will be streaming live from both arenas across all seven days of competition. And there’s more good news; the entire Championships will be completely free to view exclusively on H&C’s streaming service, H&C+.

Vicky Thompson-Winfield’s Olympic partner Enfant has been put to sleep, following a long and happy retirement, at the great age of 34. Trained and mentored by the late great Franz ‘Rocky’ Rochowansky, a former Chief Rider at the Spanish Riding School of Vienna, Vicky and Enfant represented Great Britain at the Atlanta Olympic Games in 1996.
