The following riders have been selected to represent Great Britain this week at Exloo CDI3*/CDIY/CDIJ/CDI-Ch-A/CDIP/CDIU25 in the Netherlands (05 – 09 May 2021).

British Dressage will be joining other governing bodies in the sporting community for a social media blackout from 3.00pm today, Friday 30 April, through to midnight on Monday 3 May, in support of the campaign against online abuse.

Plans for the inaugural Wellington CDI, 11 – 16 May, are advancing well and the team is building towards a great first ever international dressage competition at the Hampshire venue. Entries are now closed and we can announce the British contingent selected across the seven divisions – Big Tour, Small Tour, U25, Young Rider, Junior, Children and Pony.

British riders flocked to Keysoe International for their High Profile Show (23 – 25 April 2021). Not only the first major domestic dressage fixture of the year but also the first big dressage fixture at the Bedfordshire venue since it came under the ownership of Sarah Stoute. High class facilities were matched by high class competition over three days.

The 2020/21 winter season is building to its exciting second stage with Regional Championships and Petplan Equine Winter Area Festivals getting underway this Friday and running into early June. Many have worked hard to secure their qualification spot and are hoping their performance earns a coveted place at the NAF Five Star Winter Championships, 28 June – 2 July, at Hartpury College. The year’s seven-fixture Premier Leagues series continues tomorrow at the popular Lancashire venue of Myerscough College, which is hosting 26 classes across six days (30 April – 05 May 2021). Although taking place behind closed doors, Horse & Country TV will be live streaming for you to be a part of the action from the comfort of home.

The multi-purpose Sentower Park in Belgium played host to the Opglabbeek CDI3* last weekend and the senior competition was dominated by riders from the Netherlands who were out in force to lay their claim to a place on the Dutch Olympic team for Tokyo. However, Gareth Hughes made sure they didn’t have it all their own way with his newest GP star.

With Tokyo on the horizon, it was thrilling to see British riders on form at Horses and Dreams Hagen CDI4*, the first international of the outdoor season in Germany (21 – 25 April 2021). Charlotte Dujardin attained three wins, Charlotte Fry and the Van Olst breeding stallions were outstanding, whilst Carl Hester and En Vogue showed the makings of a world class combination and Sonnar Murray-Brown impressed with Erlentanz amongst many of Europe’s best.

Olympia, The London International Horse Show’s 2021 edition will relocate to ExCeL London and take place from Thursday 16 to Monday 20 December 2021, organisers announced recently.

One of the most successful British horses of recent years, Rubin Al Asad, has been retired from competition at the age of 19 following a long and illustrious career.
