Despite an unexploded World War II bomb closing the M62 resulting in traffic chaos, the excellent Port Royal organising team made sure the championships (23 – 25 July 2021) ran smoothly, with some high scoring combinations securing their golden tickets to the LeMieux National Championships.

With all three Team GB riders in the starting line up for the Individual medal contest, it would be reigning Olympic Charlotte Dujardin to exceed the odds, claiming the bronze medal to become Britain’s most decorated female Olympian of all-time.

With the scoreboard reset to zero and the top eight dressage teams in the world primed and ready to do their best, the team medal competition in Tokyo was one for the history books, as Team GB excelled and one rider earned a record equalling result.

Olympic first-timer Charlotte Fry, with her petite frame and Yorkshire accent, has impressed beyond expectation with her ice-cool temperament, enthusiasm and great talent in harnessing all the power of the breeding stallion Everdale for peak performance. At Sparsholt Summer Regional Championships (16 – 18 July 2021), a dream came true for Dawn Buckley, winning her first trip to the National Championships, and Georgie Nicholls continued her dream season with another two regional titles under her belt.

The following rider has been selected to represent Great Britain this week at Sint-Truiden CDI3* in Belgium (29 July – 01 August 2021).

The hotly contested Shearwater Young Horse Championship semi-finals for four, five and six-year-olds, and BD Seven-Year-Old semi-final at the NAF Five Star Hartpury Festival of Dressage proved the ideal showcase for riders to present their promising youngsters.
