With just a few short weeks to the LeMieux National Championships, riders at Bury Farm High Profile Show (27 – 29 August 2021) were taking the opportunity to acclimatise their horses to a bigger show atmosphere, flower-dressed arenas and loudspeaker announcements.

The highlight of the year for many BD Youth members, the Sheepgate British Dressage Under 25 Championships (23 – 28 August 2021), made a welcome return to this popular Lincolnshire venue after last year’s COVID-19 enforced break.

The following horse and rider combinations have been selected to represent Great Britain at CHIO Aachen in Germany (14 – 19 September 2021) in the CDIO5* and CDI4*.

A wealth of the world’s most talented young horses took centre stage at Verden in Germany, the home of the Hanoverian Studbook, for the FEI WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championships (25 – 29 August 2021). Three astonishing horses claimed the titles on offer, with Great Britain’s Charlotte Fry riding the KWPN stallion Kjento to gold in the six-year-olds’ world championship.

British Dressage (BD) is delighted to announce the appointment of Caroline Bell in the new role of U21 Performance Manager which will oversee the management and development of our Pony, Children on Horses, Junior and Young Rider squads through the BD Youth pathways and teams at the annual FEI European Championships.

Following Spencer Wilton’s recent announcement of Super Nova’s retirement at the age of 18, it’s time to celebrate the career of this medal-winning team horse and flag-bearer for British breeding.

The following horse and rider combination has been selected to represent Great Britain this week in the Junior classes at Grote-Brogel CDI in Belgium (02 – 05 September 2021).

After the intensity of yesterday’s team competition, the riders and horses were grateful for the chance to let their hair down for one final ride in that inspirational arena. Sophie Wells gave her all with Don Cara M but it wasn’t to be a third medal for them while Natasha Baker, Lee Pearson and Georgia Wilson all repeated their individual test performances for silver, gold and bronze respectively.

With two fantastic scores produced by Sir Lee Pearson and Natasha Baker yesterday to put ParalympicsGB in the medal mix, today promise to be a tight affair with anyone of six teams vying for a coveted place on the podium. Sophie Wells had a tricky ride on Don Cara M but they delivered a new personal best which was enough to give Britain gold and maintain their unbeaten Paralympic team record.

Grade II rider Sir Lee Pearson and Natasha Baker in the Grade III gave ParalympicsGB hopes of a further medal on the first day of the team competition in Tokyo today.  A new PB score from Lee and Breezer of 77.636% combined with Natasaha’s 76.618% aboard Keystone Dawn Chorus to put Great Britain in gold position of the teams who’ve had two riders complete. However, there’s everything to play for tomorrow when the medals will be decided.
