Abigail Gray and George Clooney B.S achieved a new personal best score for the second time this week as they reached the new heights of 74.811% to finish in fifth place in the Individual Test at the FEI Pony European Championships being held in Le Mans.

British riders put up a strong challenge in the team competition at the FEI Dressage Pony European Championships in Le Mans, France (24 – 30 July 2023). Spearheaded by Abigail Gray and George Clooney B.S, who delivered an outstanding team test on the opening day of competition, the British team achieved an admirable fifth place behind Germany, Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands in the 13-nation contest.

British Equestrian and the British Dressage para selectors can today confirm the four horse and rider combinations that will form their list of definite entries ahead of the FEI Para Dressage European Championship, set to take place in Riesenbeck, Germany, from 5–10 September this year. 

Hartpury’s Festival of Dressage (3 – 9 July) hosted the first of the ever-popular semi-finals of the KBIS Young Dressage Horse series. Riders are given the chance to showcase young equine talent and as always, they delivered.  

With the British ponies settled and through the first horse inspection in Le Mans, it’s time to look ahead to this year’s FEI Dressage European Championships for Ponies and wish our riders the very best of luck this week.

The following horse and rider combinations have been selected to represent Great Britain this week at Kronenberg CDI3*, held at the Peelbergen Equestrian Centre in Kronenberg, the Netherlands (27 – 30 July 2023)

As first-time hosts of a BD Summer Regional Championships, the Payne family at Sheepgate Equestrian in Lincolnshire warmly welcomed competitors over three days of hot competition (15 – 17 July 2023) which saw many winning combinations clock up plus 70% scores.

It may have been a blowing a gale at Parwood Equestrian Centre (15 – 17 July 2023) but competitors toughed it out to win those precious qualifications to the LeMieux National Championships. Nicola Buchanan and Sue Brougham both won two titles and a number of riders went home with more than one ticket to the Nationals.

Myles Graham has concluded his 2023 FEI Dressage Junior European Championships with a bronze medal in today’s Freestyle final at Gestüt Schafhof in Kronberg, Germany (18 – 23 July 2023). Isla Sully and Vagabond de Massa also excelled to land eighth place, while Mette Dahl and Caporal de Massa finished 16th amongst Europe’s best.

The contest for the Individual medals at the FEI Junior European Championships (18 – 23 July 2023) proved almost too close to call, with the four British riders producing exceptional results in a showdown of the highest standard.
