The preliminary findings of British Dressage’s U21 International Teams Strategic Review were presented to the Board of Directors in December and a number of the key recommendations are being progressed ahead for implementation in 2018.

We are very sad to learn of the passing of Helen Webber aged 88 at the weekend. Helen was a retired list one judge, Judges’ committee member, BD selector and BHS examiner and was very active in the Southern region promoting the sport she loved.

The first major fixture of the domestic calendar, Addington High Profile Show, took place last week at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre in Buckinghamshire (12 – 14 January 2018).

On Saturday 13th January, breeders of the top British-bred horses from around the country converged in London at the Grange City Hotel, for the 21st Anniversary British Breeders Dinner and Awards Ceremony, organised by the British Horse Foundation. There has been much to celebrate for British Breeding in 2017 and this glittering occasion affords the breeders of these potential world-class horses the special recognition they deserve.

In September, British Dressage teamed up with In The Saddle to offer an amazing opportunity of the holiday of a lifetime to Diogo Lima Mayer’s award winning Monte Velho Stud Farm in Portugal.

Further to our announcement last week of the appointment of Peter Storr to the Board of British Dressage, we have been contacted by a number of members asking for clarification on how the election process for Directors is going to be managed this year.

British Dressage is delighted to start the New Year by announcing the appointment of FEI 4* Judge Peter Storr to the Board as Judges Director. Peter has been co-opted to the role for a four year term, with immediate effect, and will take up chairmanship of the Judges Committee as part of his remit, alongside Jane Peberdy who will continue as deputy.
