British Dressage can announce that bookings are now open for our ever popular regional training camps in England. The six Regional Development Officers (RDOs) have been working with venues around the country to put the necessary measures in place to create COVID secure conditions in line with the revised government restrictions, to enable these camps to run from August onwards and into the autumn months.

The following riders have been selected to represent Great Britain this week at Grote-Brogel CDI2*/CDIU25/CDIYJP in Belgium (9 – 12 July 2020).

British Equestrian is now accepting applications, until 30 September 2020, for the 2020/2021 Young Professionals Programme cohort.

In January 2020, British Dressage (BD) instigated a review of the development pathways for riders with international and team aspirations in order to provide a clear and transparent system which makes best use of the resource and funding available. The review was headed by BD’s Chief Operating Officer with input from the Chief Executive, International Teams Director and BD Youth Director, as well as extensive consultation with relevant stakeholders.

Hartpury University and Hartpury College have been allocated the 2022 FEI Dressage and Eventing European Championships for Young Riders & Juniors. The Gloucestershire venue had been due to host the 2020 Championships until they were cancelled in May due to the coronavirus pandemic.

British Dressage lost a great supporter in Tony Pidgley last week and his passing will be felt by many in the sport. He was a generous man, never losing sight of his humble beginnings and used his own success in life to inspire and support others.

British Equestrian has had confirmation this evening from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) that equestrian indoor arenas will be permitted for use from 4 July in England.

Following the latest announcements from the devolved governments, there are only limited changes for British Dressage members in Scotland and Wales, but indications are that competition activity will hopefully start just a matter of weeks behind their English counterparts.

British Dressage has joined other national sport and recreation governing bodies as a co-signatory of a statement issued by the Sport and Recreational Alliance (SRA) that has pledged a sector wide commitment to tackle inequality and bring about a meaningful change.
