The Prime Minister yesterday announced that a new three tier system would be put in place to manage local lockdowns, in response to the increase in positive coronavirus cases in parts of England. Following this announcement, we want to update members as to how this will affect dressage activity across the country.

2020 has been tough for us all. We’ve faced a number of challenges and we’ve missed out on so many of our favourite dressage events. So, it’s with a great sense of excitement, British Dressage can unveil plans for a Christmas celebration which we hope will end this difficult year on a high note for us all.

British Dressage CEO Jason Brautigam sent a quarter three update to members recapping the year to date, detailing the current position and outlining what's we have to look forward to for the remainder of 2020 and beyond. 

We're pleased to announce the combinations which have been selected to represent Great Britain this week at Keysoe CPEDI3*/CPEDI2*/CPEDI1* (6 – 8 October) and CDI3*/CDIU25/CDIY/J/P/ (9 – 11 October) in Bedfordshire.

They may be a few weeks later than planned but this year’s Shearwater British Young Horse Championships didn’t disappoint. Top quality horses, class riding and world class presentation was a joy to behold. A significant number of horses in the top ten across the four, five and six year old championships were home bred which is exciting news. Held at Keysoe, the wet weather did little to dampen the spirits – thanks to all who took part and helped provide a safe competition environment under COVID protocols.

GAIN Equine Nutrition wishes to advise its customers that it is investigating the potential presence of a contaminant in some batches of our equine feed range.

The next three days will be a showcase of the best young dressage horse talent on offer in the United Kingdom with four specialist competitions, including the Shearwater Young Horse Championships, hosted at Keysoe Equestrian Centre in Bedfordshire, 2 – 4 October.

British riders who travelled to Hagen CDI at Hof Kasselmann in Germany (24 – 27 September 2020) achieved excellent results and many positive comments for their harmonious riding. Lara Butler pulled off a double victory – one at Prix St Georges, one at Grand Prix - Lottie Fry landed the Inter I and along with Laura Tomlinson achieved strong results in the Big Tour.

BD Youth Director Claire Moir will be put forward for ratification for a second term of four years at next month's AGM. She's worked hard with her office and volunteer team to achieve a number of objectives in her first four years and has ambitions plans for the next four.
