Vale View Premier League: Eilberg on song for six wins

The penultimate Premier League fixture of the year, hosted by Vale View Equestrian in Leicestershire (20 – 23 June 2024), saw Michael Eilberg take six wins with five horses, including a third consecutive Grand Prix success aboard Nicky Hannam and Geri Eilberg’s MSJ Dante VX.

Already with Grand Prix wins at this year’s Somerford Park Premier League and High Profile Show in the bag, Michael and the 11-year-old MSJ Dante VX (Dante Weltino x Quattro B) – pictured earlier this year - gained another in Friday’s LeMieux Grand Prix on a pleasing score of 72.14%, with Alice Oppenheimer and Headmore Dionysus (69.09%) and Louise Bell with Into the Blue (68.77%) completing the podium.

Extending his success to the Small Tour levels, Michael won Thursday’s Fairfax Saddles Prix St Georges on 72.35% with Geri Eilberg’s eight-year-old EDH Saubermond (Sezuan x Dancier) and Friday’s Saracen Horse Feeds Intermediate I with the nine-year-old Escolar son, MSJ Encore (71.47%).

With Geri Eilberg’s 12-year-old Figlio (by Fidertanz) Michael also won Thursday’s Stübben Intermediate II (71.52%), and with Nanouk EDH (Negro x Dimaggio), an eight-year-old gelding bred by Ferdi and Geri Eilberg, he claimed both Bret Willson Dressage International Advanced Medium classes with scores of 73.77% and 75.00%.

Steph Croxford took the Grand Prix Special win partnered by her 10-year-old gelding Mr Jurist, Sara-Jane Lanning and Nicola Seale’s 10-year-old mare Hawtins Lirica (Lemony’s Nicket x Dimaggio) claimed a PSG and Inter I double, and 17-year-old Nynn Puttisombat, partnered by Sara Gallop’s Ivaro I, was unbeaten in the Young Rider classes.
