2024 has been a record-breaking year on the international stage for our youth teams. We’re now looking to recruit for two vital roles, to continue driving success and progress from Children on Horses to Young Riders and beyond.
With medal success across six different categories for the first time and a record 15 medals in total, it has been a glittering summer of sport for Britain’s international teams. In the Youth ranks, we achieved our first ever gold medal at Children on Horses level, as well as two more golds at the FEI Pony and Under 25 European Championships. The future is certainly looking bright with a great pool of talent coming up through the age groups.
A key part of the results is the team behind the team, who help to deliver the operational and logistical support for our athletes. We’re currently recruiting for an Under 21 Performance Manager and Under 21 Selector, who will be able to make a real impact on the future success of our riders, squads, and teams internationally.
Under 21 Performance Manager
Following this year’s FEI U21 European Championships, Caroline Bell has decided to step down from her role as Under 21 Performance Manager. Caroline has had a hugely positive influence on our international youth teams over the last three years and made a significant contribution to the success we have enjoyed across all age categories since the pandemic. While we are sorry to see Caroline go, this opens up a great opportunity for the right person to take over the reins, as we look to build upon these achievements in future years.
Under 21 Selector
Our thanks and appreciation also go to Nikki Herbert who has completed her second term as Under 21 Selector. We are looking for a replacement on the Selection Panel and welcome applications from individuals to work alongside Richard Baldwin and Stephen Arnett. As with the Performance Manager, this role encompasses four different age groups, selecting the athletes and horses representing Great Britain at CDIs and FEI championship teams at Pony, Children on Horses, Junior, and Young Rider levels.
Applications for both of these positions above are now open with role descriptions via the button below. Please send in a letter of application detailing your background and experience as they relate to the role description, as well as a copy of your current CV.
Please email your application to ceo@britishdressage.co.uk or send by post to Jason Brautigam, British Dressage, Building 2020, Copse Drive, Meriden Business Park, Meriden, West Midlands, CV5 9RG.
The closing date for both roles is Monday 28 October 2024, with interviews taking place in early November.
