Annabella Pidgley has secured Individual silver in the U25 Grand Prix competition at the FEI European Championships, held in St Margarethen, Austria.

With Sarah Pidgley's 13-year-old gelding Gio, Annabella Pidgley from Windsor, Berkshire, successfully held her overnight position in the second spot on the leaderboard to stand on the U25 podium today, with a superb silver medal.

The combination, who've been gaining mileage and momentum at Grand Prix throughout the year, rode to an impressive 72.205% in front of Maarten Van Der Heijden (NED - E),  Alice Schwab (AUT - H), Kurt Christensen (DEN - C), Isabelle Judet (FRA - M) and Clive Halsall (GBR -B) to take silver by just 0.03%.

Annabella and Gio were winners in the opening round, the team competition, before going on to continue their good form on the first day of individual competition. The combination will now step forward for tomorrow's freestyle championship, where they will hope to repeat their successes for another top placing.

Annabella has now won medals at four consecutive championships, progressing through the level podiums from Juniors to U25s.
