Promising to be a fascinating weekend, the timetable for BD Presents, our new flagship event featuring Becky Moody and Sophie Wells has now been released.
BD Presents on 23 and 24 November at Hartpury University & College is shaping up to deliver two exciting days offering the chance to learn from top-level presenters through relatable and achievable sessions on coaching and training for all abilities.
Our new training event concept is based on feedback that our members gave us on what they wanted to see from our training content. The response was unanimous in that it needs to be relevant to all riders, with grass roots combinations and 'ordinary' horses being used to demonstrate practical hints and tips that our audience can take home.
Saturday
We’ll be kicking off Saturday with our breakthrough star of the Paris equestrian scene, Becky Moody. She will be presenting a session on BD youth and supporting young rider development, followed by a chance to pick up some tips on Novice test riding as she is joined by guest presenter Judy Harvey top judge and international grand prix rider.
British superstar Sophie Wells, and fourth-time Paralympian, will then guide us through introducing and developing the horse and partnership from the ground up with guest presenter and one of the UK's leading horsemen, Joe Midgley (Horsemanship).
Several sessions with Becky, Sophie and guests will follow, covering everything from the judge's perspective to scales of training and developing a partnership ready for more advanced levels.
Finishing the day on a high, we’ll be joined by Bomb as Becky shares his journey from homebred to the Olympics and then treats us to a showcase of their GP freestyle before closing remarks for the day.
Sunday
Day two will welcome guest presenter and showjumper John Ledingham as he joins Becky and then Sophie for two sessions on training techniques for horses of all disciplines by looking at flatwork and polework.
The rest of the day will be jam-packed, covering topics from groundwork and partnership with Joe Midgley to training young horses with Becky, to riding accurate tests with Sophie and matching personality to music with Becky, Bomb and Tony Hobden from Equidance.
The weekend will be wrapped up by Diana and Sophie as she discusses Dianna's journey from a young horse to Paralympic success and showcases their Para Grade V GP Freestyle.
Please note that this timetable is provisional and subject to change. The final schedule will be confirmed closer to the event.
