British Dressage and Equestrian Management Agency are thrilled to unveil plans for each day at the National Convention, along with the exciting announcement of two title partners.
The British Dressage National Convention at Addington Equestrian on 25 & 26 November is shaping up to deliver two world class days of training and education from some of the most recognised names in the sport and we can now confirm more details about the timetable for the weekend. We’re also delighted to announce that this year’s event will be brought to you in association with two of BD’s most prominent and loyal sponsors, LeMieux and NAF.
Our headline host and double Olympic champion Charlotte Dujardin will open the day with a fascinating session on training young horses, before returning to demonstrate Grand Prix in the last session of each day, completing the training journey from start to finish.
Dressage legend and BD patron Carl Hester is set to host the Novice level sessions across the weekend, before his GB teammate Gareth Hughes takes to the arena to run through the Medium, Advanced and Small Tour levels.
Ryan Shannon will show us the beginning and benefits of in hand groundwork with young and experienced horses, while there will also be a session on each day entitled ‘through the judge’s eyes’ to capture the important element of judging, demonstrating how we can take judges’ comments through to our learning and training.
Hayley Watson-Greaves will be joining us on Saturday to perform the Grand Prix Freestyle with her beloved partner Rubins Nite for one final time before this popular horse makes his retirement, and each day will conclude with a very special presentation to celebrate 25 years of British Dressage.
Valegro will also be our star equine guest on both days, as we mark the success and achievements across the history of British Dressage.
The two days will work with different horse and rider combinations to give a detailed presentation of working through the levels when training a dressage horse. Demo combinations will be released in the coming weeks when we will also confirm the final timetable.
Doors will open at 9.00am on both days for a 10.30am start, with each day concluding at 5.00pm.
Please note that this timetable is provisional and subject to change. The final schedule will be confirmed closer to the event.
General Admission tickets are still available but are selling fast, so book now to guarantee your place at the biggest training event in the BD calendar.
Title sponsors announced
We’re also delighted to announce that LeMieux and NAF will be joint title sponsors for this year’s event. As valued partners of BD and title sponsors of the National Championships and Winter Dressage Championships respectively, we’re thrilled to have the backing of two iconic equestrian brands.
Jason Brautigam, Chief Executive of British Dressage, commented: “The National Convention promises to be a very special occasion this year, as we take the opportunity to celebrate 25 years of British Dressage, and there could be no better partners for this than LeMieux and NAF, who have contributed so much to our sport over the past decade. We are immensely grateful for their support, and we look forward to welcoming BD members and dressage enthusiasts to what is sure to be a memorable weekend.”
