The 2019 BD Premier League season kicked off in style today with our opening leg at Lancashire’s Myerscough College in their impressive International Arena. Running through to Sunday 10 March, the show is the prime opportunity to catch some of the sport’s budding combinations kicking their summer qualification off alongside some established names with their young horses and regular campaigners alike.
With classes from Medium to Grand Prix, including an u25 GP and FEI Pony tests, there’s something for all dressage enthusiasts. The show also is the start of our ever popular search for a star series, the Shearwater BD Young Horse Championships with classes for four, five and six year olds. Myerscough is the first of 19 qualifiers running through to June – one to follow through the coming months.
Top names like Becky Moody, who had a great Regional Championships at Myerscough just a matter of weeks ago, European, World and Paralympic gold medallist Sophie Wells, Matt Frost, Dan Greenwood, Matt Hicks and Rebecca Hughes all feature among the entries – be assured there will be plenty of top riding talent on show.
Saturday night is Gala Night where visitors can watch Freestyle classes at PSG, Inter I and Grand Prix so get your ticket – they’re just £5 – to watch all the music action. Call 01995 642115 to order by phone, or you can buy on line via Horse Monkey.
Spectating is free at all other times and there’s a great café on site should you require refreshments.
