Susan Pape has shown great form at the opening CDI of the 2024 Adequan® Global Dressage Festival (AGDF) in Wellington, Florida, USA (10 – 14 January 2024). The Germany-based British rider finished towards the top of the leaderboard in the CDI-W and CDI3* with Harmony’s Eclectisch and Harmony’s V-Plus respectively.

Competing in the seventh leg of the FEI Dressage World Cup™ 2023/2024 North American League, Susan and her own and Harmony Amateur Sports Foundation’s 15-year-old stallion Harmony’s Eclectisch (pictured) opened their 2024 season in confident style.

Close second on 70.587% in the CDI-W Grand Prix, just .065% behind German winner Felicitas Hendricks (23) and Drombusch OLD (Destano x Dimaggio), Susan and Eclectisch (Zenon x Olivi) also impressed in the freestyle for fourth place. On a balmy night under floodlights, during the first ‘Friday Night Stars’ evening of the 2024 AGDF calendar, Susan and Eclectish produced an expressive and well-executed performance of their U2-themed programme to earn 75.745% from the judges panel comprising Carlos Lopes (POR), Hans-Christian Mathiesen (DEN), Evi Eisenhardt (GER), Peter Storr (GBR) and Sarah Geikie (USA).

Partnered by her own and Harmony Sporthorses’ Harmony’s V-Plus (Vivaldi x Fürst Romancier), a stallion who made a dual-winning international debut at Wroclaw CDI3* in Poland last October, Susan also captured second place to the home nation's Anna Marek and Fire Fly in both the CDI3* Grand Prix and the CDI3* Grand Prix Special. Harmony’s V-Plus, the youngest horse in the class at just 10 years of age, continues to show his immense potential. Here they posted 68.196% in the Grand Prix plus a Grand Prix Special PB of 69.234%.

Susan, who is competing at the Adequan® Global Dressage Festival (AGDF) for the ninth time of her career, says; “It’s so nice there because you can focus on the horses and really pick your classes.”

The AGDF features seven weeks of CDI competition over three months and runs through to 31 March.
