Summer Regional Championships 24: Bicton Arena

Congratulations to all those who collected LeMieux National Championship qualification tickets at Bicton Arena Summer Regional Championships, which took place at the Devonshire venue from 09 – 11 August 2024.

Bryony Goodwin and Krack DE

Alice Peternell, Lucy Amy and Bryony Goodwin each took home a double of wins. Bryony and her eight-year-old gelding Dion II (Dante Weltino x Rubiquil), winners of the 2023 Elementary Gold National Championship title, will return to Somerford Park this year having won the Bret Willson Dressage International Advanced Medium Silver at Bicton, scoring 72.54%. Bryony was also on form with Antonia Brown’s 13-year-old Krack C gelding, Krack DE - pictured, to top the Fairfax Saddles Prix St Georges Silver on 71.13%.

Another 2023 National title holder returning to Somerford is Wiltshire rider Alice Peternell with Katherine Pfistermuller’s seven-year-old stallion, Vespasiano (by Vitalis). Alice and ‘Vespa’, who last year were crowned Novice Gold Champions, this year will contest the HorseQuest Elementary Gold having qualified on a winning 71.61%. Alice also qualified her six-year-old KWPN gelding Newton-D (Franklin x Olivi) in the BETTALife Novice Gold, winning the class on 72.47%.

Lucy Amy partnered her seven-year-old Dutch-bred Millenium Falcon II to two wins, taking the TopSpec Medium Gold with an impressive score of 71.08%, as well as the Bret Willson Dressage International Advanced Medium Gold on 69.30%.
