Summer Regional Championships 24: Hartpury

Congratulations to the riders who collected LeMieux National Championship qualification tickets at Hartpury University and Hartpury College Summer Regional Championships, which took place at the Gloucestershire venue from 30 July – 01 August 2024.

Rob Barker enjoyed a successful Regional Championships, taking the top two places in a hotly contested BETTALife Novice Gold class. Drawn first to go with Christine Kirk’s five-year-old Kilian’s Bartholomew (Baron x Dr Jackson D), the duo scored 75.12% to hold the top spot until stablemate Licorno (pictured), a seven-year-old Lord Loxley-sired gelding, also owned by Christine Kirk, posted 77.10% for the win and the highest score of the show.

The highest score across the silver sections came courtesy of Megan Burbridge, 22, who won the BETTALife Novice Silver aboard Kate Purchase’s Nethercote. Megan, from West Sussex, and the six-year-old Foundation x Royal Diamond mare topped the leaderboard on a super score of 73.70% to take the win ahead of runner-up Julian Agnello De Vaz Carreiro with Abildgaards Sensation (73.02%).

In the FEI level classes, Lewis Carrier was the top scorer across the gold sections, winning the Fairfax Saddles Prix St Georges Gold aboard 14-year-old gelding For Season (Fifty Cent 2 x Voltaire) on 71.47%, for owner Sarah Fung, while Evelina Shrieve and her Apache x Gribaldi KWPN gelding, Insist TC, were on great form to with PSG Silver equivalent with 70.78%.
