Charlotte Dujardin’s new rising star - Hawtins San Floriana the mare with a spectacular young horse record who is now strutting her stuff at Premier Leagues and is on her way to The LeMieux National Championships.

Charlotte Dujardin needs no introduction; being on the senior dressage teams since 2011, winning 6 Olympic medals, 13 European medals and numerous International and National titles, holding British and World records she is one of the most successful female dressage athletes.

By Floriana Elite x San Amour, Hawtins San Floriana has some of the most significant young horse titles to date winning the Young Horse Championships as a four, five and six year old and then represented Great Britain at the World Breeding Championships in Verden, Germany as a six year old. She has won the Novice and Elementary title at the NAF Five Star Winer Championships and the Medium title at the LeMieux National Championships.

Talking about Carl Hester and Charlotte Dujardin’s outstanding daughter of San Amour as a 6 year old at the 2018 British Young Dressage Horse Championships, judges Ulf Möller and Maria Colliander as well as Isobel Wessels said, “she oozes class and character, combined with endless energy and elasticity. The mare wants to go, she doesn’t want to hang about! Eager to go and eager to please.”

Bred by Judith Davis of Hawtins Stud, is a descendent of foundation mare State Premium World Finest who is also the grandmother of Hawtins Delicato, talent clearly running in the family.

The judges also mentioned, “It’s an impressive looking mare with a lot of stage presence, all three paces are absolutely clear. The walk was clear and nicely relaxed and the trot has a wide range to come and go as does the canter, showing underlined clear ability to collect.”

“She’s a Rolls Royce! She’s so smooth and elastic, and she’s got so much character. I can’t ask for much more from this horse, she is amazing,” said rider German rider/trainer Eva Möller.

Hawtins San Floriana made her first competitive appearance in three years, after taking some time out for breeding, with Charlotte Dujardin at Hartpury Premier League in May of this year. The now elegant 10-year-old mare claimed convincing victories at Advanced Medium with over 78% and also topped her first ever Prix St Georges at the show.

“I think she’d only done a handful, if that, of Advanced Mediums so I was really happy with her,” said Charlotte. “She got quite hot in the canter work, had a few little blips, but all in all, I was really happy. And then she did a really lovely, super advanced medium.”

There is more to come from this spectacular combination, will  the LeMieux National Championships be their backdrop for success…
