The Combined Training series and championship, supported by Red Gorilla®, offers BD members the chance to enjoy a multi-discipline activity with dressage and show jumping contributing to a two-round event. The series has been a firm favourite amongst many members for over five years and has grown exponentially in its time on the BD roster.

Retraining of Racehorses (RoR), British Horseracing’s official charity for the welfare of horses who have retired from racing, has recently announced the initiation of a comprehensive review focusing on enhancing sporting opportunities for former racehorses competing in a wide range of disciplines. This has included further collaboration with National Governing Bodies, to explore and expand opportunities in 2024.

For former racehorses taking part in the Red Gorilla®, Combined Training series, there will now be a highest placed RoR rosette awarded at each level during all qualifiers, and subsequently at the Championship final in April.

RoR Managing Director, David Catlow, said: “RoR is delighted to extend its support to the Red Gorilla® Combined Training Series by recognising the highest placed former racehorse in each of the qualifiers, as well as at the Championship. The versatility of the former racehorse is captured perfectly by this series.”

Qualifiers remain ongoing until March, so there’s plenty of time to collect your ticket to the final; use the button below to find out more about how to get involved.
