The fifth fixture in the 2021 Premier League series has got underway today at Wellington Riding in Hampshire (09 – 13 June 2021) running alongside the inaugural Festival of Para Dressage, which includes the Equissage Pulse Gold Semi-Finals, with all boasting competitive start lists across their respective levels.
With an estimated 700 entries of national and international competitors, it promises to be one the venue’s most popular Premier Leagues to date and is now extended to include the first-time running Festival of Para Dressage.
Following today’s Equissage Pulse Para Gold Semi-Finals there’s the Para Team Tests, sponsored by FMB Therapy Systems, to look forward to tomorrow when the nation’s leading para riders will be hoping to catch the selectors’ eye for a place in Tokyo, followed by Freestyles at each grade on Friday.
Amongst the Premier League classes is an exciting 43-strong LeMieux Grand Prix on Saturday, starting at 9.30am running through to mid-afternoon. The start list includes British Olympians Emile Faurie and Fiona Bigwood plus Charlotte Dujardin who is bringing both Florentina VI and Gio to Wellington. Hickstead winners Anna Ross and Newton Domino will also be ones to watch.
An annual highlight of Wellington Premier League is the Gala Evening which will take place on Saturday 12 June from 5.30pm to 9.30pm. Centring on Class 35, the Prix St Georges Music Freestyle sponsored by Nirvana Spa, a stunning day spa located in Berkshire, the sponsorship brings a fantastic first prize of £2,000 and the second placed rider will receive £500 of prize money making this class the most competitive of podium placings!
With restrictions easing, the team at Wellington is looking forward to welcoming spectators to the Gala Evening to watch top class riders compete for the coveted first prize. Like previous years this special evening will be ticketed, however, to enable social distancing it will now be free-standing outdoor space, not allocated seating. Spectators will need to check in through the clubhouse reception to show their online ticket confirmation which will then be redeemed for a wrist band to access the arena viewing. To secure your ticket please follow this link.
The clubhouse café and bar will be open as well as an additional bar on the prime viewing bank for spectators but please remember to bring a face mask, which must be worn indoors.
Horse & Country will be there to bring you livestream on their H&C + platform. A subscription is just £5.99 per month with no contract and you can cancel at any time. There’s loads more dressage content coming up on the platform so you’ll have plenty to watch in the coming weeks.
