Preview: Keysoe Premier League

The 2022 Premier League season continues this week with the second of the seven-fixture series taking placing at Keysoe International in Bedfordshire (29 April – 01 May 2022). Promising three days of great action running from tomorrow through to Sunday, the event has attracted many top riders from around the UK and Horse & Country will be there to bring you coverage from Arena 2 via the H&C+ platform.

The show features classes from Advanced Medium to Grand Prix, along with KBIS and BD International Young Horse qualifiers plus FEI Youth classes from Pony to U25. For the dressage enthusiast, there’s much to enjoy right across the weekend. You can head to Keysoe to watch arena side, or H&C+ members can watch from the comfort of home.

Friday’s televised classes include the Andrews Bowen Advanced Medium 96 starting at 09:00 followed by the day’s feature class, the LeMieux Grand Prix starting at 12:45. With a start list of 33, the Grand Prix features 2021 FEI U25 European Championships teammates, Lewis Carrier with Diego V and Ellie McCarthy with GB Londero Von Worrenberg, plus Rio Olympic Games team silver medallist Fiona Bigwood and a host of exciting partnerships to look out for.

Saturday morning in Arena 2, 47 PSG competitors come forward for the Fairfax Saddles Prix St Georges starting at 09:00. Running all day until 16:44 the class boasts a wealth of talented combinations including Nikki Barker and Dan Icarus, fresh from an Advanced Medium Freestyle Gold victory at the NAF Five Star Winter Championships, Sara-Jane Lanning with the lovely Hawtins Lirica, and Emma Blundell with her super mare Mount St John VIP.

Sunday’s streamed action includes a second day of Fairfax Saddles Prix St Georges action, starting at 09:00, followed by the Andrews Bowen Advanced Medium 98, which gets underway at 12:45, and the Saracen Horse Feeds Intermediate I from 15:30.

Horse & Country will be there to bring you livestream on their H&C+ platform. A subscription is just £5.99 per month, with BD members receiving a further 15% discount on the annual membership price of £59.99. There’s no contract, you can cancel at any time, and with much more dressage content coming up on the platform, you’ll have plenty to watch in the coming weeks and months.
