With an amber warning in place ahead of the arrival of Storm Eunice, British Dressage and Myerscough International Equine Arena have made the sad decision to postpone the Equissage Pulse Winter Para Dressage Championships, due to run 18 – 20 February.

The team at Myerscough, headed by Kelly Thompson,  has acted quickly and already got a date in for the rescheduled fixture of Friday 4 to Sunday 6 March.

Kelly commented; “We have to put the welfare of horse and rider first and the forecast is not looking kind. We felt it was better to give riders as much warning as we possibly could than leave it right up to the day. Working with my team, we’ve managed to get a date in the calendar quickly – hopefully competitors can reschedule and see the extra time as a bonus to prepare for the championship classes.”

All entries and stabling requests will automatically be transferred to the new date. If any competitors are unable to do the new date, please get in touch with Myerscough from Monday 21 February, when the office reopens. Due to time restrictions, the Team and Freestyle to Music tests won’t run. Any competitors entered in these classes will automatically receive a refund via their Horse Monkey account.

Lou Jones, BD’s Sport Operations Manager said; “It’s never an easy decision and we realise the amount of effort and cost riders put in to preparing for any competition but in this case, it’s the right call based on safety and welfare. We’re grateful to all involved for being proactive through the process to postpone and reschedule. We hope those impacted can make the new date and have their time to shine in the Equissage Pulse championship spotlight.”
