Abigail Gray has today secured a silver medal for Great Britain in the Pony Individual competition at the FEI European Championships, held in Opglabbeek, Belgium.

Riding her own 13-year-old gelding George Clooney B.S, Abigail from Banchory, Aberdeenshire, delivered a new personal best of 75.324% to take the silver medal, on an incredibly close-fought podium, behind Germany’s Madlin Tillman and Chilly Morning WE (75.595%).

Abigail and George Clooney B.S (Caesar 171 x Santano) rose to prominence in 2023 when they finished just off the Freestyle podium at the Pony European Championships in Le Mans, and this year achieved an unbeaten run of seven international wins leading up the European Championships.

“He has been absolutely amazing at this championship and on the run up to it,” commented Abigail at the press conference. “I am so proud, not just of him but of everyone that has helped us get here.”

The combination will now step forward for tomorrow’s Freestyle where they will hope to repeat their successes for another top placing.
