British Dressage is excited to launch its Quest Winter League series and membership, offering year-round opportunities for grass roots riders aiming to experience their first taste of affiliated competition.
Quest, supported by Saracen Horse Feeds, is set to benefit from a brand new opportunity in the competition calendar, with the introduction of the Quest Winter League. Running from September to December, the Winter League will give riders already active within Quest and those new to British Dressage the opportunity to compete in a four-month series, with progress tracked on national leaderboards and the winners recognised with prizes at the close of the season.
Quest Winter League competitions will offer both Team Quest and My Quest options, with fixtures already available to view on BD Online. As with standard Quest competitions, members will be able to choose from Introductory, Prelim and Novice level classes, with sections for Open and U21 riders. Taking part in Quest Winter League competitions doesn’t affect eligibility for other BD competitions, making it the ideal opportunity to hone your skills inside the white boards throughout the winter season.
There are also differences in the eligibility rules for the Winter Quest League. Unlike the Quest series, semi-finals, and championships, where scores of 70% or higher from all previous seasons count towards moving a combination up a level, this rule doesn’t apply for the Quest Winter League – so members can have a go at the level above without this affecting future qualifications.
Visit BD Online to find your nearest Quest Winter League competition, with the series due to get underway on 1 September 2023.
Membership
The Quest Winter League is open to current Club and Full (competing) members who are eligible to take part in Quest competitions.
For new members wanting to experience dressage for the first time, we’ve launched our new Quest Winter League Membership, which covers all four months of the winter season from 1 September to 31 December. Quest Winter League Members can compete in any Quest Winter League fixtures, while also benefiting from insurance cover at BD events and access to the BD Members Legal Helpline, provided by Rotheras.
At just £10 for membership and £5 for horse registration, the Quest Winter League membership is the ideal introduction to affiliated dressage, before making the step up to an annual Club or Full subscription. Quest Winter League Memberships are available to buy from 1 August via the BD member portal, so click the button below to start your journey.
