With just over three weeks to go until Daniel Bachmann Andersen, Chris Bartle and Michael Eilberg descend on Addington Equestrian for this year’s National Convention in association with Harrison Clark Rickerbys, British Dressage is delighted to announce the complete timetable and the demo combinations taking part in each ‘Develop to Perform' session.
Saturday’s programme is all about developing through the levels in line with the scales of training to have a positive impact on progress from Prelim to Advanced Medium. We’ve already announced three day one riders in Chanell Murray, Katrina Hall and Samantha Turpitt! Joining our three demo rider competition winners are a mix of talented Silver Championship winners, committed BD amateur riders and seasoned professionals. Chanell Murray and Indian Summer will open the day’s action with the second Prelim to Novice level session focusing on BackinAction Preliminary Silver Reserve Champions Katie Byam-Cook and KBIS Winter Preliminary Champion Gill Peckham with her driving-bred heartthrob Hero. Moving on to Novice level Louise Robson will present one of her up and coming horses whilst successful Para star Amanda Shirtcliffe shows us her leading lady New Princess. Childeric Elementary Silver Champions Aimee Gascoigne and MSJ Diva Dannebrog will help us step up to Elementary level before Katrina Hall and Sam Turpitt take to centre stage for a closer look at training towards Medium. Our final session of the day presents a preview of Sunday’s programme as Dannie Morgan and Becky Moody walk, trot and canter us through Advanced Medium and beyond.
Come along on Sunday to be inspired by the FEI levels, from Young Horses and under 21s to Grand Prix. Hawtin’s Stud’s resident rider Lucinda Elliot presents young horse Hawtins Quattro in the first session of the day before Team NAF Pony rider Annabella Pidgley is joined by up and coming Young Rider Lara Kuropatwa in our focus on youth stars. Sam Rahmatalla, Ashley Jenkins and Dannie Morgan will work through the levels from Medium to Prix St Georges and Inter I, before NAF Five Star Winter Prix St Georges Champions Katie Bailey and Eagle Nouvelle join 2018 Under 25s European Championship team bronze medal winning combination Claire Gallimore and Annette Ballerina for our Inter II to Grand Prix session. Our final duo of the day to take to the National Convention arena are the in-form locals, Louise Bell and Into the Blue – a horse that captures the spirit of the weekend having made an amazing transition from Working Hunter champion to Grand Prix great.
Expect our demo riders to get stuck in to effective exercises, including pole work and cavaletti, that you can apply in your day to day training – no matter your level or goals. We’ll be focusing on each of our riders in detail over the coming weeks on BD social media, stay tuned for fun facts and more information on the 18 confirmed combinations!
