The British team of up-and-coming combinations that travelled to CHIO Aachen in Germany (01 – 07 July 2024) enjoyed promising results in the CDIO5* Lambertz Nations’ Cup, while the reigning world champion duo of Lottie Fry and Glamourdale were outstanding dual winners in the CDI4*.

Lottie Fry and Van Olst Horses’ Glamourdale (Lord Leatherdale x Negro) – pictured - showed great work ahead of Paris, winning both the CDI4* Grand Prix and CDI4* Grand Prix Special on scores of 80.978% and 80.107% respectively, to comfortably finish ahead of the home nation’s Isabell Werth (DSP Quantaz) and Frederic Wandres (Duke of Britain FRH) on both podiums.

Competing in the CDIO5* Lambertz Nations’ Cup with her own and Van Olst Horses’ Especial, Lottie and her teammates - Andrew Gould (Indigro), Susan Pape (Harmony’s V-Plus) and Anna Ross (Habouche) - all delivered bright performances to seal fifth place for Great Britain in the close-fought team competition.

In the CDIO5* Grand Prix, which determined the team result, Lottie and Especial (Everdale x Vivaldi) scored 71.935% for 10th place in the standings; Andrew finished 13th on Max and Tatiana Skillman’s Indigro (Negro x Jazz), posting 71.000% for a promising Aachen debut; Susan Pape and Harmony’s V-Plus (Vivaldi x Fürst Romancier), who she co-owns with Harmony Sporthorses, presented a super test to also score 70%-plus for 14th, while Anna Ross and the Ampere-sired mare Habouche displayed bags of ability for 68.761% and 22nd place to comfortably qualify for a spot in the Special.

In the CDIO5* Grand Prix Special, Anna Ross and Habouche were awarded 68.596% for 22nd, Lottie and Especial took 13th spot on 71.064% before going on to finish just outside the top ten in the Freestyle (76.665%), and Susan Pape and the young stallion Harmony’s V-Plus achieved 18th in the Special (69.957%) and 15th in the Freestyle (74.170%).

During their round in the CDIO5* Grand Prix Special, Andrew Gould and Indigro were eliminated by the judge at C for blood in the mouth. Indigro was inspected by the FEI stewards and then British Equestrian Dressage Team Vet Andre Buthe and nothing further was detected.
