British Dressage is delighted to announce that the FEI has promoted British FEI Para Dressage judge John Robinson to 5* Para Dressage Judging status as of 1 January 2021.
John joins Sarah Leitch and Sarah Rodger as the third of Britain’s para dressage judges at this level and means he is now eligible to judge at any FEI Para Dressage Championship across the globe. Just 17 elite para dressage judges worldwide hold this rank at present.
As a BD List 2A Judge, Riding for the Disabled (RDA) and FEI Para Dressage Judge, John enjoys a busy schedule judging at High Profile Shows, Premier Leagues and both Winter and National Championships. He has been an RDA dressage judge for more over 30 years and in 2017 became Chairman of the RDA Dressage Committee. He also sits on the BD Para Dressage Committee.
John became an FEI Para Dressage Judge in 2006 and has officiated at many venues across Europe including the FEI Para Dressage European Championships in Gothenburg.
John commented; “I was judging at the Winter Championships last week and received the email Tuesday evening from the FEI. It meant that I could share my good news with colleagues the next day.
“As a five star Para Dressage Judge it means that I can work with colleagues to ensure BD is totally represented internationally. We have to remember that para dressage grew from an amazing UK organisation, the RDA. Much has been learnt on the way and I am totally committed to continuing the development of this exceptional sport. To be recognised in this way is a great honour and a privilege.”
