British Dressage is sad to convey the passing of popular figure Cynthia Llewellen Palmer at the age of 82 on 19 February. She died peacefully in her sleep. Originally from Perthshire, Cynthia latterly settled in Great Somerford, Wiltshire and was a judge and under 21s selector with BD. She had a love of supporting younger riders and close affinity with the Pony Club, judging up until 2012.

Cynthia is pictured far right in the blue dress between Sarah Millis and Becky Moody in her role as Young Rider Selector in 2000 at Hartpury College when the team, which included Kate Cowell (nee Attlee), won bronze. Also pictured are fellow selectors Helen Webber and Sally Merrison with rider Andrew Gould between them.

Her funeral service will take place on Tuesday 13 March at 3pm at St Peter and St Pauls Church, Great Somerford, Wiltshire. There will be a service of committal at Kettins on Monday 19 March at 2pm.
