Following this year’s BD Director elections, British Dressage is delighted to confirm that Hannah Moody has been formally elected as BD Youth Director.

In line with the British Dressage Articles of Association, the position of BD Youth Director was put forward to the membership for election this year. After a formal review of applications by the Nominations Committee, Hannah Moody was the sole candidate put forward to the membership vote for the role, with an electronic ballot carried out independently by Mi-Voice.

Hannah received 1,515 votes (98.2% of those cast) and has been duly elected as BD Youth Director.  The appointment will formally take effect from the date of the 2024 Annual General Meeting, on Thursday 24 October 2024, with Hannah serving an initial four-year term until 2028.

Hannah has been serving as Interim BD Youth Director since October 2023, when the position became vacant after the former post-holder Claire Moir was appointed to the BEF Board.

Speaking after her appointment, Hannah commented: “I’m delighted to continue from my interim role and take up the reins as BD Youth Director for a full term. I look forward to working with the Youth committee, BD head office staff and those in the BD regions to continue the good work going on behind the scenes to improve opportunities for youth riders.

“Youth development is not just about the time spent in the arena, it’s about the role the sport plays in the development of life skills and friendships, and I hope I can continue to drive our successes in creating a supportive, enjoyable community where all young people can thrive.”

Members can take the opportunity to speak to Hannah Moody at the LeMieux National Dressage Championships this week, where she will be present on all four days and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
