With the horses arrived and settled in Ermelo, it’s time to look ahead to this year’s much-anticipated Longines FEI WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championships for Young Horses, in the Netherlands (04 – 08 September 2024), and wish our riders the very best of luck this week.
Ermelo welcomes the world’s best young dressage horses, including an exciting British contingent, who will show off their talents over the next five days. Starting from tomorrow, the competition will feature the top five-, six-, and seven-year-old horses from across the world as they battle it out for the 2024 titles at this flagship young horse event renowned for revealing the stars of the future. You only have to look at double World Champion and Olympic medallist Glamourdale, who won the seven-year-old title in 2018 under Lottie Fry, to see that it truly is a steppingstone towards the top international levels.
Representing Great Britain this year are Fiona Bigwood with her own Newton Sylvanite – a five-year-old; and in the six-year-olds - Dannie Morgan with his own Fever Tree and Jody Haswell with his own Valentinio. Click here for full details.
Also, as part of the Danish quota of entries will be Fiona Bigwood with her own six-year-old Quinn G; as part of the Spanish quota will be Joseph Hunt with his own and Yeguada Centurion’s six-year-old PRE, Druida de Centurion, and as part of the Dutch quota in the six-year-olds will be Charlotte (Lottie) Fry with Van Olst Horses’ Everest and Nalegro.
Lottie will also represent Great Britain in the CDI3* with Van Olst Horses’ 10-year-old KWPN gelding, Especial (Everdale x Vivaldi).
