FEI Pony, Junior and Children on Horses European Championships – follow the competition live

With the British horses and ponies settled at Sentower Park in Opglabbeek, Belgium, it’s time to look ahead to this year’s FEI Dressage European Championships for Ponies, Juniors and Children and wish our riders the very best of luck this week.

Five days of elite competition gets underway on Wednesday at the Belgian venue of Sentower Park where Europe’s leading Pony, Junior and Children on Horses combinations will go head-to head for team and individual championships honours.

The Championship action starts on Wednesday, with part one of the Pony Team competition from 08:30 local time (07:30 BST) and part one of the Children Preliminary B from 08:30 (07:30 BST). This is followed by the first half of the Junior Team medal competition, starting at 14:00 (13:00 BST). Team competition continues Thursday when the 2024 FEI Dressage Pony and Junior team honours will be decided, while the Children on Horses team competition takes place over Friday and Saturday. 

The British Junior bronze medal-winning team of 2023 - Mette Dahl, Myles Graham, Ruby Hughes and Isla Sully - reunite for this year’s European Championships. This time, Mette rides Fiona Bigwood’s Fidelio van het Bloemenhof and Ruby rides Carl Hester’s Brioso, while Myles Graham returns with Caroline Bell’s Nibeley Union Hit and Isla Sully with Cassandra Sully’s Vagabond de Massa.

The British Pony team features Sofia Games with Janet Oliver and Katie Oliver-Games’ Steendieks Cadillac, Abigail Gray with her own George Clooney B.S, Evie Head with Lauren Geraghty’s WS Jackson and Darcey Blaze Marcus with Hiedi Marcus’s Ella, while representing Great Britain as an individual in the Children on Horses European Championships is Ella-Grace Dovey with David Pincus’s Sheepcote Jackson. Friday sees the start of the individual competition, which gets underway at 08:30 local time (07:30 BST) for Ponies, and 14:00 (13:00 BST) for Juniors. The second half follows on Saturday, with another set of FEI medals for each category awarded immediately after the competition closes.

Coveted positions in Sunday’s Pony and Junior Freestyle finals will be open to the best 18 individually placed riders from the Individual competition, following a final horse inspection. Sunday also sees the individual medal contest for Children, for the top 18 combinations in this category, and you needn’t miss a moment of the action as the entire championships is being brought live to subscribers by ClipMyHorse.TV.
