Countdown to the Cavago Associated Championships

With just under one month left to qualify for the Cavago Associated Championships, find out more about this celebration of all breeds and types, with 13 different title opportunities.

The Cavago Associated Championships offer a unique opportunity to showcase the vast varity of breeds and types competing with BD, with title opportunities across 13 different breeds and types hosted at two fantastic festivals of dressage. Prepare for your Cavago Championships now, here are the venue allocation, dates and categories:

Bury Farm, Buckinghamshire
14 – 16 October
Arabs, Natives, Draughts, TGCA and Side Saddle
Vale View, Leicestershire
9 – 13 November
CHAPS, Retraining of Racehorses, Thoroughbred, Veteran Horse, Veteran Rider, GB PRE, Lusitano and Forces Equine

With the addition of side saddle - new for 2022 - and rule changes to remove the compulsory requirement to join another relevant society, the Cavago Associated Championships continue to be the most accessible and varied event in the BD calendar. Looking ahead to an exciting conclusion to this brilliant series, Lou Jones, Sport Operations Manager said, "the Cavago Associated Championships are one of the most inclusive events of the year, the variety of horses which are showcased exceeds our expectations year on year. In 2022, we have the addition of a dedicated Side Saddle Championships to look forward to, which further demonstrates the growth of this fantastic opportunity! Need to know

There's less than one month to go until the qualification period ends for entry into the Championships so make sure to register your interest and gain the scores needed by the 31 August. To qualify, all you need is three scores of over 60% within the level you wish to qualify for in accordance with the BD rules which can be found in the Members' Handbook. For those aiming to qualify at Prix St Georges, only two scores of over 60% are required. 

You can gain scores from regular British Dressage competitions, including My Quest or Team Quest. Scores from Area Festivals, Combined Training, Freestyle to Music, Regionals, Under 25 Championship, Winter or National Championship scores will not be accepted towards the qualification of the Championships. Submit your scores online to be verified by the BD Sport Operations team ahead of competing at the event.
