The British Dressage Selectors in conjunction with Performance Manager Caroline Griffith have made a change to the team that will represent Great Britain at the 2022 FEI Dressage European Championships for Under 25s which will take place at Budapest region - Pilisjászfalu, Hungary, from 24 – 28 August.
Dylan Deutrom has had to withdraw Sunlit Uplands from the competition. This brings forward the Direct Reserve and Dylan will ride Sarah Church and William Deans’ San Marco (black gelding, 2010, 16.2hh, Status Quo x Gribaldi, Breeder: Cyril Bisscheroux, OLDBG) - pictured above.
British Dressage International Director, Judy Harvey commented, “We are extremely disappointed for Sarah Warry and Matt Hicks, the owners of Sunlit Uplands, that he has had to be withdrawn from the Championships. He is not quite fit enough for the long journey and the horse’s welfare must always come first.
"It is fortunate however, that Dylan has another horse, San Marco, qualified for the Championships who is of great quality although a little less experienced. With his trainer and owners' support we are excited to see San Marco step up to this level and we wish the entire U25 team lots of luck as well as Crystal Robinson-Long who is competing as an individual in the FEI Dressage European Championships for Children on Horses competition.”
