Calling all Bronze and Music riders!

British Dressage is delighted to announce that Bury Farm Equestrian Village in Buckinghamshire will be hosting the brand new Bronze and Music Championships on 24 – 27 August 2018.

The Bronze Championships (24 - 26 August) are an exciting addition to the BD calendar, providing the opportunity for our grass roots riders from Prelim to Advanced Medium to experience their first taste of championship level competition. Alongside this, in response to the increase in popularity of our music classes, we have introduced a Summer Music Championships (24 - 27 August) to be run across the Bronze, Silver and Gold sections, from Prelim to PSG.

Centre director Stuart Reeve-Young said, 'As a BD venue we are excited to be able to support these two new Championships. Freestyle classes have developed a widespread appeal since the 'dancing horses' touched the nation's hearts at the 2012 Olympics and we are delighted to be able to host the Music Championship at a venue where spectators will be able to appreciate combinations from Prelim to PSG. The Bronze Championships will allow riders to enjoy all the spoils of a major event riding in a competition devoted to this unique section within the BD dressage levels. With over 500 seats in our indoor arena we have plenty of space for supporters to come and enjoy the show.'

The Championships will run in line with Bury Farm’s August Dressage Festival, which incorporates their annual High Profile Show.

Speaking about the logistics of the show Reeve-Smith continued: 'This will be one of the biggest events that Bury Farm has ever run, which is exciting and just a little bit daunting! We will be running three arenas from dawn until dusk to accommodate riders throughout the two days of competition – and we will be scheduling warm up classes on the Friday before the Championship gets underway to enable riders to settle in to the Bury Farm atmosphere and familiarise themselves with the dressage arenas. With nearly 200 stables on site we are expecting a full-house during the Championship weekend which should make for a fantastic atmosphere throughout the competition.’

British Dressage looks forward to the inaugural Bronze and Music Championships in August and thanks the team at Bury Farm EC for their support. If you’re interested in competing and qualifying for either of these championships, please click on the links below.
