This online event marked the third round of the 2024 Virtus Para Equestrian Video Competition, which offered riders the chance to qualify for next summer’s prestigious Virtus World Championships.

Lincolnshire-based Danielle Curzon (pictured above) delivered an exceptional performance riding Victoria Moss’s mare Dizzy Rascal (Dimaggio x Byzantia). The pair triumphed in both  II 3 classes for riders with autism, scoring an outstanding 74% in the FEI Grade IV Intermediate class, and 75.75% in the Novice class. Sharing her excitement on Instagram, Danielle said she was “absolutely thrilled” with her results. She expressed her gratitude to her support team, perfectly summarising the importance of having a strong support network by saying, “It takes a village to prepare for events like this.”

Bedfordshire rider Chris Bradley, who has a rare chromosome disorder associated learning disability and autism, also made a strong impression with the 12-year-old MBF Harley Rebel (Harlequin Du Carel x Rich Rebel). He secured second place in both the II 1 classes for riders with intellectual disabilities, achieving an impressive 72.60% in the FEI Grade IV Intermediate class and 71.50% in the Novice class.

Both riders now turn their focus to selection for the Virtus World Championships, where they will showcase their talent on a global stage on home soil.
