It's Brexit on Friday 31 January! The British Equestrian Federation has been working closely with government departments, vets and leaders in the equine industry to ensure that riders, owners and support staff have the latest information.

The UK will leave the EU on 31 January 2020. There will then be a transition period of eleven months until 31 December 2020, during which time all horse movement processes and requirements will stay as they are.

During the transition period, the UK and the EU will negotiate a free trade deal, and detailed aspects of the UK's future relationship with the EU will be decided during these talks. Information about what will happen from 1 January 2021 if a trade deal is agreed can be found on the GOV.UK website (scroll down the page to the section 'Moving equines within the EU: current rules'), and updates will be posted regularly.
