The vast variety of breeds and types of horses training and competing with BD were showcased at the 2024 Cavago Associated Championships, hosted by Onley Grounds Equestrian Centre from 22 - 26 October.

The event was a true celebration of the diversity of horses within our sport, showcasing all 13 Associated Championship categories for the first time under one roof at Onley’s first-class facilities over the five-day festival which crowned 224 new champions.

The impressive variety of breeds and types included British Native Ponies, Traditional Gypsy Cobs, coloured horses and ponies (CHAPS), Draughts, Arabs, Iberian horses and Thoroughbreds,  Veteran horses and riders, ROR, Forces Equine and side saddle contenders.

Congratulations and thank you to all of this year's winners and competitors who once again made the championships one to remember. A special thank you goes to the team at Onley Grounds Equestrian for their hard work, dedication and warm welcome. We also extend our gratitude to our judges, stewards, volunteers, and of course to title sponsor Cavago, who all made this event possible.

All breeds and categories will be captured in full show reports over the coming weeks, so please keep an eye on the BD website and social media channels to enjoy reading up on the action.

Across the five days, we saw over 1,200 entries heading down the centre line, each with their own unique story and journey behind that final halt and salute. We'd love to these stories as part of our reports and across social media, so if you have a story to share or a special dancing partner who deserves a shout out, please reach out and let us know!
