Britain’s Para Dressage stars were out in force at CPEDI Randbøl last week and proved once again their strength on the European stage (14 – 17 March 2019).

Leading ladies Sophie Wells, Erin Orford, Suzanna Hext and Charlotte Cundall breezed to victory in the Nations Cup competition, each putting in stellar team performances to reach a total of 424.27, a score that would leave the quartet seven points clear of the home nation Denmark in second.

With Charlotte Hogg’s C Fatal Attraction, Sophie Wells continued to assert her dominance in the Grade V category taking home a trio of wins. Speaking from her Facebook page about her final test and experience in Randbøl Sophie commented, “Last test at Blue Hors CPEDI, Jorge was on fire! So much so he added his own changes in later on in the test. I tried to use my spare line to correct his own ideas but he just thought it was another chance to have fun - I loved riding it though, our Tom Hunt Dressage Music for 76.575% to win. He has felt amazing all week even if the scores haven’t quite reflected that in relation to last year. Thank you to my team here and at home, you are the best, and my sponsors and supporters.”

Erin Orford enjoyed three podium placings, as did Suzanna Hext who also achieved a fantastic win in the Grade II Team test on board the Lady Joseph Trust’s Enggaards Solitaire. For newcomer Charlotte Cundall, it was a week of learning and great experience with her two rides, Brenda Reddy’s BamBam and the Lady Joseph Trust’s Simply Red. Commenting on her week on Facebook she said, “Could not be more proud of both my amazing ponies and feel so grateful to Brenda Reddy and The Lady Joseph Trust for giving me such amazing opportunities! When I look at the four riders that finished ahead of me I’m absolutely delighted...as someone said to me earlier in the week…'don’t compare your chapter 1 to someone else’s chapter 20' - this hopefully is the start of our journey through the chapters. To be part of the winning Equestrian Team GBR Nations Cup Team was a bit of a pinch yourself moment, standing alongside amazing team mates Sophie Wells MBE, Erin Orford and Suzanna Hext was a really proud moment. Thank you girls for such an amazing week!”

Congratulations to all four riders for a superb start to the year.
