British rider Lottie Fry has qualified to compete at this week’s FEI Dressage World Cup™ Final in Leipzig, Germany (06 – 10 April 2022).
Yorkshire-born Lottie, who is based in Den Hout, the Netherlands, will partner her own and Van Olst Horses’ Dark Legend (dark bay gelding, 2008, Zucchero x Tango, KWPN). This will be the first FEI World Cup Final since 2019, owing to the disruption caused firstly by Covid in 2020 and then by last year’s EHV outbreak, and will be Lottie’s FEI Dressage World Cup™ debut.
Lottie and Dark Legend, who were on the British team at the 2019 FEI Dressage European Championships in Rotterdam, secured their place at the Final following strong placings at London CDI-W in December and ‘s-Hertogenbosch CDI-W in March.
The competition gets underway on Thursday with the Short Grand Prix starting at 19:00 local time (18:00 BST). The Grand Prix Freestyle, which will decide the 2022 World Cup Champion, takes place on Saturday from 19:10 (18:10 BST).
