British Dressage is delighted that ADAS Equine has agreed to join our collection of valued partners as our first official Environmental & Sustainability Partner.

With over 75 years working in farming and the environment sector, ADAS is the UK’s largest independent provider of agricultural and environmental consultancy, policy advice, and research and development. ADAS Equine, born out of the wider ADAS business, is made up of agricultural land management and sustainability experts who, as horse owners and riders, personally understand the unique challenges that we face as a sector in managing the needs of all horses and ponies.

As British Dressage Official Environmental & Sustainability Partners, ADAS Equine will provide support to members in two strands: education and on-site advice. An exclusive discount to BD members will enable access to ADAS advisors, who are able to offer practical on-site consultations to help land and yard management. From a one-acre field through to a large stud or estate, ADAS’ one-to-one advice will consider both horse health and welfare alongside business efficiency and environmental needs.

ADAS Equine are also committed to supporting the wider educational programmes that reach every corner of the membership. We will be working with their experts to create new content for British Dressage media channels, to deliver webinars and live learning opportunities, and develop new sustainability modules for the BD Learning Hub, free to access for all members.

Equestrian sport relies on the natural world and landscape around us, and we all have a duty to protect and preserve the environment. This partnership will be integral to the success of BD’s sustainability strategy, launched in December 2023 in partnership with British Showjumping, which outlined our vision, mission, and action plan from 2024 to 2030. The strategy highlights an education-led approach, which, with the input of industry experts ADAS Equine, will help us to safeguard the future of equestrian sport.

Sarah Wynn, Managing Director ADAS Climate & Sustainability, commented: “ADAS Equine are excited to be working with British Dressage to help members learn more about how to manage their land better for the welfare of the horse and for the environment.  We are passionate about sustainability and helping riders, owners and trainers to think differently about how they interact with their environment.”

Jason Brautigam, British Dressage Chief Executive, commented: “We are thrilled to welcome ADAS Equine on board as our Official Sustainability Partners. This will help us to make further progress on implementing our action plan, as outlined in our Sustainability Strategy. We pledged to bring people, horses and nature together in harmony, and by working together with our members and ADAS’s team of experts, we can collectively strive towards meeting this aim, to deliver a sustainable future for equestrian sport.”

Chris Phillips, Commercial Manager at British Dressage, commented: “Our goal is to grow the BD partner roster, bringing benefits, opportunities and education to BD members – and that’s exactly what this exciting new partnership achieves. I’m delighted to welcome the ADAS Equine team to the BD family and look forward to working together to reach our shared partnership goals, bringing valuable opportunities and insight to members and stakeholders, whatever their role is within the sport.”
