Keysoe proved to be a great start to the 2022 international season, with personal best scores for British Paralympians Sophie Wells and Georgia Wilson and British-based Canadian team member Roberta Sheffield.

Just over a week after launching, the team behind British Equestrians for Ukraine can report a successful start thanks to an overwhelming response from the equine community to help those displaced by the Russian invasion. The public fund set up via World Horse Welfare is currently running at over £100,000 in donations while the co-ordinated efforts of the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) have collected feed and bedding worth around £90,000 - about nine lorry loads - which is on route to Poland.

Some exciting combinations scoring in the mid-70s laid down a strong challenge for success at the NAF Five Star Winter Championships. Organisers had moved quickly after storms rendered the Merrist Wood campus unviable for the original dates. With one day’s competition run separately, the final three days were held over the weekend of 11 - 13 March. The postponement meant some classes were smaller than usual but the talent wasn’t in short supply.

British Dressage (BD) is delighted to announce Ashley Stewart as the new Development Officer for Scotland. With a sound background in equestrian sport, teaching and business operations, Ashely will start in the region on 28 March, taking over from Emma Devoy who leaves after eight years for a new chapter.

Sara Cooper and Seni-Lliso I, a horse that cost the princely sum of £1 including tack, were duly crowned Grade II Silver Champions at the re-scheduled Equissage Pulse Para Winter Championships at Myerscough International Arena (04 - 06 March 2022). Storm force winds had forced the cancellation on the original date and although some entries could not make the new weekend it was still top quality competition.
