We have been asked by a number of members what the official British Dressage position is on coronavirus.  As things stand it continues to be business as usual, although we are in close contact with UK Sport, Sport England and the Sport & Recreation Alliance to ensure we act on the latest advice and guidance from the government.

Myerscough College began its Winter Regionals on the 15 February and finally finished on 1 March. Storm Dennis wreaked its havoc on the schedule and many competitors paid tribute to the organisers and their team of volunteers and judges for keeping the show on the road at all.  

The British Equestrian Federation (BEF) is in constant contact with key partners such as UK Sport, the British Olympic Association, the Sport and Recreation Alliance, and the FEI to monitor the situation both in Britain and globally around the current Coronavirus outbreak.

The following rider has been selected to represent Great Britain this week at Herning CDI5* in Denmark (4 – 8 March 2020).  

The first competitor down the centre line this morning at Lancashire’s Myerscough College International Arena got the 2020 Premier League underway! The first of eight Premier League fixtures, Myerscough runs until Sunday 8 March with dressage action from Medium to Grand Prix. There are some great names among the strong entry alongside some of our rising stars and talented under 21 riders.

The hardworking team at Myerscough pulled off an historic Equissage Pulse Para Dressage Winter Championship while battling the toughest conditions thrown at them by Storm Dennis, hot on the heels of their North West Regional Championship. The bustling Lancashire college has hosted the championships for two years but this was by far the largest gathering of para competition yet. Over 175 entries were received with 160 actual starters over the four days of competition – quite a rate of growth from 40 four years ago.
