Our Apprenticeships (Scotland)

The Scottish Racing Academy are the training provider for BD members in Scotland, where they deliver the Generic Horse Care Modern Apprenticeship (incorporating Dressage).

British Dressage has partnered with the Scottish Racing Academy to offer new education opportunities to young equestrians, with the delivery of the BD Apprenticeship now available to those aged 16 and over living and working in Scotland.

Level 6 Horse Care Modern Apprenticeship (Scotland)

Duration: 12 – 18 months

This Level 6 qualification requires candidates to be in a role within a yard where they have sole charge for at least a period of time within their working week.

Level 5 Horse Care Modern Apprenticeship (Scotland)

Duration: 12 – 18 months

This qualification is open to those aged 16+ who would like to complete “on the job” training as part of normal duties.
