Halt & rein back

Halt
Horse and rider should stand still and foursquare
The halt starts many tests and is the final movement in all, the judges are looking for the horse to stand attentive, engaged, motionless, straight and square with the weight evenly distributed over all four legs.

Rein back
'Reverse' for carried out from halt
Rein back is a rearward diagonal movement with a two-beat rhythm but without a moment of suspension. Each diagonal pair of legs is raised and returned to the ground alternatively, with the forelegs aligned on the same track as the hindlegs.
