About Lottie
Dressage is in the bloodlines for Lottie Fry, who's following in the footsteps of her late mother Laura Fry, who ran a successful competition yard in the UK and represented Team GB at the 1992 Games in Barcelona alongside Charlotte’s teammate and mentor Carl Hester.
Following the passing of her mother from breast cancer, Fry moved to the Netherlands in 2014 to train with the Danish Olympic medallist Anne van Olst and their partnership has been one of historic success. Lottie continued her journey through the youth ranks at the start of her Van Olst journey, earning team appearances at Junior and Young Rider level, before going on to complete her time in the developing ranks as a gold medallist at Under 25 Grand Prix level with her long-time partner Dark Legend.
It was with Dark Legend that Lottie made her senior Grand Prix debut and earned her first senior team call up, representing Great Britain at the 2019 FEI European Championships where the team placed a creditable fourth. Lottie's next team appearance came at Tokyo 2020, where she exceeded expectations for a just-23 year old to contribute to team bronze success and earn a top 15 finish in the Grand Prix Freestyle final. Just a matter of weeks later at the FEI European Championships, Lottie and Everdale showed vast improvement from the Olympic experience to earn three top five placings and brought a team silver medal home to Van Olst Horses.
Her recent partnership with the record-breaking stallion Glamourdale has earned Lottie a place in the history books, as she rode to double gold success at the FEI World Championships in 2022, the youngest rider in the history of the sport to do so. Lottie is one of a handful of riders to have achieved a score of over 90% in the Grand Prix Freestyle.
